With care and compassion, I utilize my skills to help resolve symptoms so you and your furry family members can enjoy your best life.

Hello! I’m Amanda

I completed an intensive 4-year, 4400-hour program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, which included over 1000 hours of supervised hands-on training. I graduated with a Masters in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences. After receiving my Masters, I completed the 12 month graduate program in Animal Osteopathy. I’m a member in good-standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA) and Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN).

Prior to becoming an Osteopathic Manual Therapist, I earned my Honours Kinesiology degree with a minor in Biology at McMaster University. I have spent over 20 years in the health and wellness field, and I continue to expand my knowledge through various programs and courses.

I love helping people and animals in my career of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
When I’m not treating in the clinic or at the barn, I enjoy hiking, weight training, reading, spending time with loved ones, and being outdoors.

Osteopathy is to me a very sacred science. It is sacred because it is a healing power through all nature.

- Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Founder of Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a branch of holistic healthcare that utilizes gentle manual therapy to treat the whole body and address the root cause of your symptoms. Osteopathic treatment is a drug free and non-invasive manual therapy, that adheres to the theory that imbalances in the structures of the body contribute to the development and maintenance of diseases.

With extensive training in anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics, I use gentle hands-on techniques to restore proper mechanics and remove any obstructions that interfere with blood flow, nerve impulses, and the lymphatic system; allowing for proper nourishment and drainage of the tissues. This in turn allows proper movement and function to return, and reduces symptoms.

What can Osteopathy help with?

  • Digestion - constipation, bloating, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux

  • Acute and Chronic pain - muscle tension, spasms, joint pain, back pain, jaw pain, numbness and tingling, headaches, migraines, arthritis

  • Fatigue - response to stress, adrenal health, sleep disorders

  • Women’s health - menstrual pain, pre and post-natal care, fertility issues

  • Injuries - sports injuries, whiplash, concussion, repetitive strain injuries

  • General health

Osteopathy for animals

Animal osteopathy is a gentle manual therapy complementary to veterinary care that aims to address the structural issues that are causing pain or functional issues. It follows the same principles as human osteopathy, finding the root cause of the problem.

Osteopathy for your animal can;

  • provide pain relief

  • improve biomechanical balance

  • improve mobility and function

  • improve recovery following injury

  • reduce occurrence of injuries

  • improve digestion

  • reduce stiffness

  • improve behavioural issues

  • manage symptoms associated with arthritis

A good healer cannot depend on skill alone. The healer must have correct attitude, sensitivity, compassion and a sense of responsibility.

FAQ’S
